Can I use the Hawkeye Library if I am not a student?

Answer

Yes! Community members are able to use our library facility and check out most materials as our library participates in the Iowa Libraries’ Open Access program.

  • Please present a photo ID to apply for a Hawkeye Community College Library card.
  • Sorry, there are a few privileges that don’t apply to our community patrons. Borrowing privileges for the general public do not include: Use of most reserve materials--Interlibrary loan service--Remote access to licensed electronic resources--Checkout of videos, however you may view videos in the library--Checkout of electronic devices such as laptops, wi-fi hotspots, etc.--Eligibility to enroll in the Library’s biometric system.
